Industrial customers are an under-developed source of energy and demand savings, particularly when it comes to savings related to process improvement. Despite the fact that many industrials would like to reap the utility bill savings associated with energy efficient process improvements, their desire to do so is often trumped by competing priorities, a lack of knowledge on improvement opportunities, and concerns about downtime and risks to process reliability and product quality. Financial incentives alone are often not enough to motivate industrial customers to act.
