Things to do in San Antonio while you're in #DistribuTEXAS
Jan 21, 2018
Once you’ve had your fill discussing Advanced Meter Infrastructure and Grid Modernization at DistribuTECH, there are plenty of ways to stretch your legs and check out local happenings:
- For a little history lesson, don’t forget the Alamo---an historic battle site (1836) and 300 years of history spanning 5 different armies and 6 independent nations. The Briscoe Western Art Museum provides an introduction to the American West, complete with Cowboys, Native Americans, the Vaquero, and more layers of this rich heritage.
- Get active after sitting so long by exploring San Antonio’s famous urban waterway, the Riverwalk, or natural wonders like the Japanese Tea Gardens and Natural Bridge Caverns.
- Find out why “everything is bigger in Texas” by checking out two enormous landmarks: The Largest Cowboy Boots in the world and the Largest Mosaic of the Virgin Mary.
- If you have kids in tow, the “DoSeum” promises a please-touch, indoor-outdoor experience, and there’s always the San Antonio Zoo.
- Take advantage of your proximity to Mexico and find some quality eats at Mi Tierra Bakery & Cafe, or Rosario’s Cafe Y Cantina. You might even get serenaded by a mariachi band while you dine.
