Dr. Worhach has more than 13 years of experience in operational, financial, business process, renewable integration, and environmental analysis of power systems, having consulted for utilities, public power agencies, Independent System Operators (ISOs), market participants, and for Research & Development projects for the U.S. Department of Energy.

Paul has conducted in-depth business process improvement studies for utilities and power agencies, developed large scale power systems models to assess the cost of renewable integration, and has applied a range of software applications in consulting projects, including Nexant’s PRYM for energy portfolio risk management and HEDGE for Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR) procurement in the California ISO (CAISO) market, and the PLEXOS power systems production simulation model.

Representative projects of Paul’s include Northern California Power Agency’s (NCPA) Lodi Energy Center Locational Marginal Pricing (LMP) Analysis, California Department of Water Resources’ (CDWR) Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR) Procurement and LMP Forecasting, and California Independent System Operator’s (CAISO) 33% Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) Study.
